China Industrial Subcontracting & Outsourcing Fair 2006 (Subcon China 2006) was held successfully

Under the direction and support of Chongqing Municipal Government, Chongqing Eco- nomic Commission, Chongqing Foreign Trade and Economic Relations Commission, and with the great effort of SPX-CQ staff, Subcon China 2006 was successfully held from 10th to 12th, November in Chongqing Exhibition Center.

Subcon China 2006, sponsored by UNIDO (United Nations Industrial Development Organization), CPPIA (China Plastics Processing Industry Association), CMES (Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society), and organized by SPX-CQ, focuses on metal processing products and nonmetal goods, covering a wide range of sectors, such as automobiles and motorcycles, machine tools and moulds, agricultural and gardening machinery. Over 400 local suppliers and 148 international purchasers from 107 companies from Europe, US, Japan, Middle East and Africa, attended the fair. The amount of international companies doubled that of last year and the total number of the professional visitors reached 12008 persons.

The fair started from the forum on China International Industry Cooperation, which was held in Chongqing Carlton Hotel. More than 200 government officers, industrial experts, chamber representatives, entrepreneurs and scholars from 19 countries attended the forum. Mr. Wang Xuesi, Deputy Secretary-General of Chongqing Municipal Government hosted the forum and Mr. Liao Zhengpin, President & General Secretary of China Plastics Processing Industry Association made the welcome speech on behalf of the Organizers. The other speakers made speeches on how to closely develop international cooperative relationship with each other: Mr. Zhao Zhongyi, Deputy Director of China International Center for Economic and Technical Exchanges??Mr. Mulugetta Birru, Director of Department of Economic Development of Charter County of Wayne, Michigan; Mr. Edward Keshock, Consultant of Cleverland, Ohio; and Mr. Masahiro Tomita, ConsulGeneral of Japan, Chongqing. In addition, Mr.Takafumi Kozawa, Executive Officer of ISUZU Motors Limited introduced ISUZU Motors??s China market strategy in the forum.

Another important event during Subcon China 2006 was the Business Match-making Meeting. Thanks to the sufficient preparation by organizer who made preliminary match-making for the international buyers and local suppliers, the meetings have made great achievement. According to the on-site survey by the Organizer, the participants acknowledged that the Business Match-making Meeting even exceeded their expectation and achieved satisfied results. All Chinese suppliers said that by participating in Subcon China 2006 they have learned a lot on how to communicate with international enterprises.

59 Chinese suppliers indicated cooperative intents or reached cooperative agreement with the international buyers, 47 international buyers visited 101 Chinese factories communicating further on certain key questions.

For example, Soren Company from Senegal bought samples on the fair; another Senegalese company LA ROUTIERE DU SUD had the intent to buy excavators; UNIDO BNSTP-S Organization from Senegal conducted preliminary discussion with Chinese suppliers on construction projects on behalf of the Senegalese DIPROM Group and was willing to develop longterm cooperative relationship with SPX-CQ. Sweden SANTEX Group visited Chongqing YongJin Heavy Machine Company, Chongqing HengDong Shiye Company Ltd, Chongqing Heavy-Duty Casting & Forging Plant and reached preliminary cooperative agreement with the companies. After going back, SANTEX sent the three companies?? drawings to ask for quotation. Qatar Metal Forming Center also has intention to cooperate with SinoPetrol Southwest General Bureau; Sino Petrol will pay a business visit to Qatar in two weeks after the fair and sign cooperative agreement with Qatar Metal Forming Center. The six domestic companies who were selected and recommended by SPX-CQ to German EWO Company had successful talks with the German company. They will provide their quotations to EWO??s products as required at the beginning of December.

The fair was highly praised by all parties involved, and many foreign purchasers said that they would attend the next fair. Ingersoll Rand, Bosch, Vestas, ZF, Volkswagen, Chamber de commerce et D??industrie de Toulouse, France etc. sent Thanks Letters to SPX-CQ and expressed their willingness to promote Subcon China fair to the international industry circles. Besides, all participating inter- national organizations and embassies and consulates in China were satisfied with the organization and results of the fair. Spanish Chamber of Commerce in China and Germany Consulate officials expressed their intention to organize a delegate to visit the fair next year, Foreign Trade Association of Finland is discussing with SPX-CQ about Subcon China fair??s promotion in Finland. To sum up, Subocn China has gained its reputation in the international industry.
