SPX-CQ Expert Started Enterprise Assessment

In order to help Chongqing enterprises set up the management system which meets international buyers'  citeria and deepen their understanding of automotive OEM in North America, as well as get to know about the strengths & weaknesses of their products, SPX-CQ invited Mr. Mahesh Desai, former senior expert of Ford Motor, to carry out enterprise assessment with the support of Chongqing Municipal Government, Chongqing Economic Committee, Chongqing Foreign Trade and Economic Relations Commission, and Chongqing Personnel Bureau.

Mr. Mahesh Desai had ever worked in Ford for 28 years. He served in many departments including Purchasing, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supplier Development in  Ford in China, India, Mexico, Philippines, and etc.. With in-depth understanding of OEM system in North America, he has rich experiences in helping Asian suppliers enter into supply chain of international automotive OEM.

From June 18 to July 15, 2008, Mr. Desai and staffs from SPX-CQ Supplier Development Department visited more than 10 enterprises in Chongqing and Guizhou and made assessment of the production site and quality system. The companies include Chongqing Mingyuan Mould Plastic Mould Co., Ltd., DUC Seals International (China) Ltd., Chongqing Dajiang Industrial Group, Chongqing Huada Automotive Parts Manufacture Co., Ltd., Qijiang Center Industry Co., Ltd., Guizhou Wujiang Machinery & Electricity Co., Ltd., Guizhou Huachang Electrical Co., Ltd., Guizhou Yonghong Radiator, Guizhou Hongyang Seals, Chongqing Qiutian Gear Co., Ltd., and Southwest Computer Co.,Ltd..

Mr. Desai gave assessment mainly about the production site, management documentary, raw materials control and etc.. The companies said that they benefit a lot from the assessment, and regarded it as a good chance to get to know their own strengths and weaknesses. They will take measures to improve those problems which were found during assessment, and will invite Mr. Desai to give re-assessment on their improvement.
