SPX-CQ’s Attendance at Subcon UK 2010



From June 5th to 15th, 2010, with the great support from Chongqing Foreign Trade and Economic Relations Commission, a delegation organized by SPX-CQ attended Subcon 2010 held in Birmingham, UK.

This visit was to highlight the investment environment of automobile and motorcycle industry and promote the export of automobiles, motorcycles and general machines in Chongqing. The delegation visited Manchester Investment and Development Agency Service Ltd (MIDAS), headquarter of China-Britain Business Council and UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) North West International Trade Centre. During the visit, both parties introduced their institution function and background. The enterprise representatives from both sides also shared views on products and demands, including one of the world's top three construction equipment manufacturers JCB. Through the meetings, Chongqing local enterprises reached some cooperations with foreign companies. The visit won a high opinion by both representatives from UK and China.

As one of the most important subcontracting fairs all over the world, SUBCON has been successfully running for 18 times already till this year. Subcon 2010 covered the space of 10,000 ㎡ and attracted 276 exhibitors from 15 countries and regions including UK, France, Swede, Germany, Denmark, Spain and etc. 70% of these exhibitors are overseas companies

With the aim to promote the reputation of Chongqing as the leading industrial city of Western China, before the departure to UK, SPX-CQ passed the information of the attendance at Subcon 2010 to British Consulate-General in Chongqing, over 50 UK chambers of commerce, associations and companies, and invited them to meet with the Chongqing delegation during the exhibition. SPX-CQ brought over 30 samples from 5 enterprises to Subcon 2010. SPX-CQ visited and passed the information about CIMAMotor 2010 to some industry association and British media, including Taiwan Mold & Die Industry Association, British Fluid Power Association, Thailand Board of Investment, Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic, Quality Manufacturing Today (QMT), Machinery Trade International (MTI) and Production Engineering Solutions (PES).

Most of the exhibitors are from casting, forging, stamping and machining industry, especially the exhibitors of precision machining parts from UK, large aluminum castings from Poland, sand castings, gravity castings and hot investment castings from China.
